Tom Baudendistel, MD

Tom is the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, California. He is a former Deputy Editor of the Journal of Hospital Medicine and co-Editor of the First Aid for the Internal Medicine Boards book.

Tom received his MD in 1995 from the University of Missouri–Columbia School of Medicine and then completed Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Residency at UCSF.  Tom joined the UCSF Hospitalist faculty and received the Floyd C. Rector Jr. Housestaff Teaching Award.  He then became the Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency at California Pacific Medical Center before moving to Kaiser Oakland where he has been Program Director since 2009.  When not playing, refereeing, or coaching soccer, you can find him running the Bay Area trails, cycling over the roads and hills of Northern California, or spending time with his spouse and two college-aged children.
