The Kaiser Permanente Northern California Institute for Medical Education provides a community for scholarship and academic medicine by aligning continuing medical education, graduate medical education, undergraduate medical education, research endeavors, and pathway programs. Members of the Institute have access to regular faculty development programming, academic faculty titles, mentoring and coaching opportunities, and internal and external recognition for their accomplishments.

Driven by the goal of advancing patient care through scholarship and innovation, the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Institute for Medical Education is dedicated to fostering an environment of excellence in medical education by empowering and supporting physician educators by providing faculty development, fostering scholarly activity, promoting research, pursuing evidence-based educational practices, and developing innovative methodologies. Welcome to the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Institute for Medical Education. As Medical Director, I am honored to introduce you to a robust community of clinician educators and scholars who have united to transform patient care through academic innovation.
At the Institute, we are dedicated to building a rich academic culture and empowering physician educators. Foundationaly, our culture integrates education across the arc of physician training, from pathway programs, through medical school and graduate training to continuing through professional development for career physicians. Our members benefit from a full spectrum of support, including leadership mentoring, regular faculty workshops, research resources, academic titles, and opportunities for recognition both within and beyond Kaiser Permanente.
